S.C. ROCK THROWING CASES CONTINUE 06-24-10 17:45 a.v.

Residents in Santa Cruz have reported multiple new cases of rock-throwing crimes over the past month.   The latest incident happened Tuesday, when a man was struck by a large rock while walking his dog on Soquel Wharf Road at about 11:15 p.m. Police say, this weeks incident marks the 6th case this month where rocks, or similar items, were hurled at people walking or riding their bikes along county streets .  The rock assaults follow over 120 window breaking vandalism cases reported in the county this past year.  Home and businesses from Watsonville to Felton have been hit and broken by river rocks thrown from cars.  The Sheriff’s office has reportedly teamed up with business owners to offer a $4,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible.
