A newly formed group, protesting gang violence, will hold several demonstrations in Santa Cruz through the weekend. Mother Grizzlies Against Gangs will appeal to residents to help stop gang violence, while also urging council members to enact an ordinance preventing property owners from renting to convicted gang members. A demonstration will be held tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m. and both Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in downtown Santa Cruz. The group formed after 2 Santa Cruz teens, Carl Reimer and Tyler Tenorio were killed by gang members.
