Nobody was injured after a helicopter crashed south of Hollister yesterday. The pilot of the private helicopter, along with 3-passengers, escaped the wreck before it burst into flames. The Hughes-500 chopper went down at 2:15 p.m., and crashed in a Paicines field, near Cienega Road and Airline Highway. San Benito County Sheriff’s deputies, and California highway patrol officers responded to the scene, as did Cal-fire crews, who extinguished the flames shortly before 3 p.m.
