A controlled burn is scheduled to be conducted today and tomorrow, at the rifle and pistol range at the Leguna Seca Recreation Area (in Monterey County). The operation is scheduled to be performed from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., on both days, if weather conditions allow it. The controlled burn will help prevent wild-fires in the area, and will serve as training for firefighters from the Monterey County Regional Fire District, as well as crews from Salinas, north Monterey County, Seaside, Monterey, and Cal-fire.
