The 13th annual Salinas Relay for Life fundraiser raised about 650-thousand yesterday. The cancer awareness effort is still accepting donations, through August 31st. The walk-a-thon began on Saturday at 10 a.m., and featured about 140-teams walking around the track at the Salinas sports complex. About 6-thousand people were estimated to have participated in this year’s event. The money raised will go to the American Cancer Society for education and care programs.
