CALIFORNIA PUBLIC UNIVERSITY OFFICIALS WILL SOON IMPLEMENT A NEW LOAN PROGRAM FOR IMMIGRANT STUDENTS. GOVERNOR JERRY BROWN SIGNED A BILL SUNDAY TO ESTABLISH THE CALIFORNIA DREAM LOAN PROGRAM AT UC’S AND CSU’S. UNIVERSITY STUDENTS WHO ENTERED THE U.S. AS CHILDREN WILL NOW BE ABLE TO ACCESS FEDERAL GRANTS AND LOANS REGARDLESS OF THEIR IMMIGRATION STATUS. THE PROGRAM WILL COLLECTIVELY COST UC AND CSU AROUND $4 MILLION ANNUALLY.
