The Port District has announced that the Santa Cruz harbor has a new Harbormaster. Longtime harbor employee, Blake Anderson has been promoted to the position of Harbormaster effective February 1. Blake was first hired in 2009, and has moved steadily up the ranks from Deputy Harbormaster, to Senior Deputy Harbormaster, and most recently Assistant Harbormaster. Blake has more than 20 years of experience working in public safety in Santa Cruz County. His comprehensive understanding of the ocean and boating will benefit the harbor and his staff. Blake is also a fisherman, a surfer, waterman, and harbor slip renter.
