THE MONTEREY COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT HAS ADDED A NEW VEHICLE TO ITS FLEET TO AID IN PATROLLING BEACHES FROM MONTEREY TO SEASIDE. THE POLARIS RANGER 900 UTILITY TERRAIN VEHICLE WAS CUSTOM BUILT TO LEGALLY ALLOW BOOTH ON-ROAD AND OFF-ROAD DRIVING. THE NEW VEHICLE AIMS TO HELP REGULATE OFTEN VIOLATED LAWS ON POPULAR BEACHES INCLUDING LATE-NIGHT BONFIRES, DRINKING ON THE BEACH AND MONTEREY COUNTY’S LEASH LAW.
