Homes in the Monterey Bay will be powered by electricity from New Mexico thanks to a deal inked by Monterey Bay Community Power. The community choice energy agency serves about 235,000 customers across Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz counties. The power company agreed to a 15-year deal with the renewable energy company Pattern Development, which will provide an estimated 10 percent of the annual power for Monterey Bay Community Power customers.
