New Leaf Community Markets has closed its Aptos store after some staff members tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
In a statement, the company said the temporary closure was voluntary, adding:
“Upon confirming the results, we immediately notified the Santa Cruz County Public Health Department and our store staff… We continue to stay in touch and offer support as they recover and self-isolate at home, including compensating them for the necessary leave of absence.”
No word yet on when the store expects to reopen.
Additionally, the store said it will cover the cost of any necessary COVID-19 testing for its staff members.
