A project that would replace the existing Casa Verde Inn, and Caruso’s Corner Restaurant, with a 42-room upscale hotel, is in the planning stages. The 3-story “Avid Hotel” would be built in the north Fremont area of Monterey, and questions have been raised about parking and traffic, since there is already some congestion in that area.
Avid is a branded hotel belonging to the “Intercontinental Hotels Group”, and in the case of this hotel I.H.G. is partnering with Lakshmi Hotel Partners which already owns 30 hotels in California.
