A Watsonville charter school, that was rejected twice by local school districts, has been approved by the California State Board Of Education. Navigator Schools plans to open Watsonville Prep School in August. The Pajaro Valley Unified School District Board Of Trustees denied the petition in may, and the Santa Cruz County Office Of Education’s Board Of Trustees turned it down in August. Local trustees did not feel that this charter school would fit the needs of the students in Watsonville.
