With last Thursday’s small wildfire in Prunedale, and today’s larger fire in Big Basin Redwood State Park, Cal-Fire has asked the California Army
National Guard to help out locally. Last year 300 guardsmen helped battle the CZU Lightning Complex Fires, and they have already been helping with preparing for the fire season this year by clearing brush and other fire-fuel at Mount Madonna County Park…..and now more are being trained to fight wildfires.
The new program (with Cal-Fire and the National Guard collaborating) is called “Task Force Rattlesnake”.
