salinas valley memorial hospital administrators have declared an impasse in negotiations with one of its largest unions, and they laid off 20 more of that union’s workers december 23rd. the national united healthcare workers union represents about 800 licensed vocational nurses, certified nursing assistants, clerical workers and others at the hospital. based on hospital administrators continuing to lay-off hospital workers, (when those cuts haven’t been agreed to by n.u.h.w.u. leaders, they have filed an unfair labor practice charge with the california public employees relations board.
