A severely neglected horse was euthanized in Prunedale over the weekend, after it was abandoned off of elkhorn road. Monterey county sheriff’s deputies, a vet with the monterey county equine veterinary services, and officials with SPCA for monterey county responded to the property on campagna way. The horse was suffering from a range of health issues, and the decision was made to euthanize the animal. The SPCA for monterey county is offering a 1-thousand dollar reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible. A witness reported seeing a pick-up truck with an older white 2-door trailer leave the area at 10 p.m. Saturday night. The horse was described as brown, with a white star on the left of his face, and 1-white sock on his left hind leg.
