A NATIVE TRIBE HAS RECEIVED NATIONAL RECOGNITION FOR WORK AT PINNACLES NATIONAL PARK. THE AMAH MUTSUN TRIBAL BAND HAS BEEN AWARDED THE 2012 GEORGE AND HELEN HARTZOG AWARD, FOR OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER SERVICE. THE TRIBE COLLABORATED WITH THE UNIVERSITIES OF CALIFORNIA SANTA CRUZ AND BERKELEY, TO CONDUCT TWO RESEARCH PROJECTS LOOKING AT HABITAT RESTORATION.
