Spring is the season for various mammals to have their babi es, and some of these babi es may get lost from their parent or fall out of their homes, such as opossums.
Amy Redfeather with Native Animal Rescue shares some tips for those looking to help these mammals.
“By all means, please try to put babies back when you can, and if there’s absolutely no nest or no mom, you’re welcome to bring them here. [Native Animal Rescue] So if anyone finds an [injured] opossum that they’re squeamish about getting the babies out or even checking the pouch, you can just bring the whole [opossum] here and we’ll do that part for you. You don’t have to touch anything.”
