THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS RELEASED A WARNING THIS HOLIDAY WEEK FOR AN INCREASED THREAT OF FIRE DANGER AND RIP CURRENTS. OFFICIALS SAY DRY AND WARM CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO RAISE CONCERNS FOR FIRE WEATHER, AS A WEAK OFFSHORE WIND DEVELOPS LATER THIS WEEK. RESIDENTS ARE BEING REMINDED THAT FIRES CAN START QUICKLY AND SPREAD GIVEN THE WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS. MEANWHILE, BEACH-GOERS AND HIKERS ARE ALSO BEING WARNED TO EXERCISE CAUTION AROUND THE OCEAN, AS ROGUE OR SNEAKER WAVES POSE A THREAT THIS WEEK BY REACHING FARTHER IN AND HIGHER UP UNEXPECTEDLY. OFFICIALS SAY IF YOU ARE CAUGHT IN A RIP TIDE, SWIM PARALLEL TO THE COASTLINE UNTIL YOU CAN ESCAPE.
