The Santa Cruz sheriff’s department is touting their new weapon against drug overdose: Narcan
According to sheriff’s spokesman sgt. Dee baldwin, a 29-year-old man overdosed on morphine late Monday night at Paradise Park in San Lorenzo Valley.
Deputies were able to give the victim a dose of narcan to reverse the affects of the morphine. He regained consciousness and was taken to a local hospital.
Narcan is administered in the form of nasal spray and Baldwin says it’s the second time Narcan has been used to save a life in recent months.
