THE NAMES OF THE 2 GIRLS WHO DIED IN LAST FRIDAY’S ACCIDENT ON HIGHWAY 1 (NEAR JENSEN ROAD) HAVE BEEN RELEASED. 16 YEAR-OLD WATSONVILLE RESIDENT AALIYA GISELLE LUNA-PEREZ, AND 15 YEAR-OLD TIANNA ROSE CROGHAN OF SANTA CRUZ, WERE BOTH DECLARED DEAD AT THE SCENE OF THE SHORTLY BEFORE 7 A-M HEAD-ON CRASH. ALTHOUGH IT WAS INITIALLY THOUGHT THAT THE 15 YEAR-OLD WAS DRIVING, APPARENTLY IT WAS THE 16 YEAR-OLD. NEITHER GIRL HAD A DRIVERS LICENSE, OR WAS WEARING A SEATBELT, AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT.
