The 20-year-old man charged with the stabbing murder of a Monterey Taxi driver attempted suicide on Saturday. Joshua Claypole was arrested last Wednesday after he allegedly stabbed Daniel Huerta 20 to 40 times while riding in his cab. Claypole pled “not guilty” to the charges of murder and car jacking in a Monterey County court room on Friday. On Saturday afternoon, deputies found the suspect hanging in his cell. His attempt was not successful and Claypole was treated at a local hospital.
