Public hearings have been scheduled in Monterey, to discuss the impending service cuts for monterey-salinas transit operations. The reductions were outlined in the transit district’s budget which was approved last week. Several lines are planned to be reduced, and the 26 and 7-bus lines are slated to be eliminated, after the agency was hit with another reduction of 1-million dollars in funding. The changes are expected to take effect on September 1st. to hear community input, 4-public hearings are scheduled. The first is set for Thursday, at 6 p.m., at the hebron family center, (which is located on Fremont street.)
