ADMINISTRATORS AND THE UNION THAT REPRESENT TEACHERS AT THE MONTEREY PENINSULA SCHOOL DISTRICT HAVE REACHED AN AGREEMENT. TRUSTEES APPROVED AN AGREEMENT YESTERDAY, THAT WILL REDUCE THE DISTRICT’S OUTSTANDING DEBT TO THE TEACHERS. THE DEBT DATES BACK TO 2001, WHEN A JUDGE ORDERED THAT THE DISTRICT REPAY FUNDS IT PULLED (ILLEGALLY) FROM THE TEACHERS’ HEALTH AND WELFARE FUND BACK IN THE 1990’S.
