The Families First Act has created the Pandemic EBT (P-EBT), which provides food assistance benefits for households with children who prior to the pandemic attended school and received free or reduced-price meals. Households do not have to be enrolled in Cal-Fresh in order to be eligible for the p-ebt food assistance. People who need assistance filing any paperwork for food or medical assistance can go to any of the county’s family resource centers ….regardless of their immigration status. Free telephonic mental health counseling is also available to help people manage their anxiety, fear and stress related to the current pandemic. Virtual parent support services are also available.
