Gov. Gavin Newsom today released new executive orders extending workers’ compensation benefits and property tax relief.
The governor initially expanded paid sick leave in April to workers in food industries. Wednesday’s order broadens benefits to all sectors, as long as the employee tests positive for COVID-19 by a physician.
The executive order is in place for 60 days and is retroactive to March 19.
Gov. Newsom also announced an executive order for property tax relief for both residences and businesses.
That executive order extends the penalty waiver through May 2021.
