A fire that burned one and a half acres in Monterey County today is now contained. The fire engulfed an area close to Del Monte Shopping Center and La Mesa Village this afternoon and was contained at approximately 2:45 p.m. A helicopter was dousing the fire while 40 firefighters assisted in putting the blaze out.
