Some Monterey County residents will now be able to apply for taxi driver and vehicle permits. The city is offering the applications which can be submitted along with payments, to the Monterey Police Department located on 351 Madison Street between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursdays. Applications for taxi dispatching companies will still be processed by Monterey-Salinas Transit staff at 1 Ryan Ranch Road in Monterey.
