A Seaside man working as a private security guard in Monterey was arrested on rape charges this week. The investigation stemmed from a December 30th incident when 26-year old Daniel Lee Bell was on duty as a uniformed guard patrolling apartment complexes in Monterey County in a marked security vehicle, when he reportedly contacted a woman and her male companion who were walking home from a local bar. Police say Bell escorted the woman to her home and that’s when the assault took place. He is being held at the Monterey County jail on a $150,000 warrant.
