Monterey Regional Airport officials have reported their progress on a safety project. The $50 million project includes a retaining wall along Highway 68 to expand the runway. When crews finish the concrete wall at the east end of the airport in April, they will begin construction on the west end. The improvements are expected to be completed by the end of December 2015.
