The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District says it will reopen and start bringing kids back into the classroom starting next month.
The Monterey school district is marking one year of being closed for in-person learning due to the pandemic. School officials say they are hopeful of seeing kids back in the classroom after spring break.
The grades and return dates are planned for in-person instruction in a hybrid model, as follows:
- April 8 and 9 | Transitional Kindergarten – 5th Grades
- April 12 | 6th, 9th, and 10th Grades (This date is contingent on Monterey County entering the red tier)
- April 19 | 7th, 8th, 11th, and 12th Grades (This date is contingent on Monterey County entering the red tier)
