The Monterey Peninsula Foundation has donated 12.8 million dollars to non-profit organizations throughout the tri-county area this year. More than 160 grants were awarded, and they ranged from 500 dollars, to 500-thousand dollars, a-piece. Since 1982 the Foundation has donated more than 135 million dollars. The top beneficiaries have been First 5 Monterey County, the Hollister Youth Alliance, and Cabrillo College in Aptos.
