On Saturday, the Monterey County Office of Education hosted the annual Spring Teacher Recruitment Fair at Hartnell College.
Officials with the school district state that they need math, science, and special education teachers the most.
Officials also state the main reason for these staff shortages is due to the lack of affordable housing that would retain teachers within the district.
While this fair is only once a year, schools are always looking to hire new staff throughout the year.
