A suspect was arrested after police responded to reports of a home invasion in Monterey early Saturday. Shortly after 3 A-M patrol units respond to a home on Via Buena Vista. At the scene officers found the homeowner fighting with the intruder. It took several officers to subdue the suspect. The homeowner and at least one officer were treated for injuries including bites. 34 year old Jose Cruz Rivas was booked into Monterey County Jail on Attempted Murder and Burglary charges. Bail has been set at 1 million dollars.
