Two Central Coast fire departments are about to join forces to provide emergency services. Officials say the partnership between the Monterey and Monterey Airport District fire Departments will significantly lower fire and emergency response times especially along the Highway 68 corridor, the airport commercial district, Ryan Ranch and the Deer Flats and Fisherman’s Flats neighborhood. A formal announcement of the partnership is expected to be made at a news conference tomorrow at 11 a.m.
