The Medical Board of California has placed a Monterey doctor, Richard Gillam, on probation for prescribing medication without examining the patient.
Gillam, who has not admitted to the charges, will not lose his medical license. However, he has lost the ability to prescribed, dispense, administer, or possess certain controlled substances. He will also be required to take remedial training including prescribing practices, medical record keeping and ethics.
