In an effort to forecast future water needs, a Monterey County Supervisor wants a better look at the area’s long term water supply. Supervisor Lou Calcagno says a 25-year study will help determine how to improve water development in parts of the Salinas Valley. He says the study will also provide a clearer picture of the county’s water problem along with a way that analyzes where the long-term water supply will come from. Calcagno’s request comes as local reservoirs have hit an all time low. He hopes to have the water supply study completed by the fall.
