Monterey Salinas Transit has issued an advisory regarding individuals posing as MST employees who are attempting to solicit personal information.
The folks posing as employees for the Monterey County-based transit agency are wearing lanyards with the MST logo printed on them. The lanyards were originally issued to the public as merchandise.
Monterey Salinas Transit also stated that their employees are identified only by their badges issued by the agency, and not by a lanyard.
Anyone who is solicited for personal information by a person posing as an MST agent is encouraged to contact their local law enforcement authorities.
