MONTEREY COUNTY HOME PRICES ARE UP COMPARED TO THIS TIME LAST YEAR. NEW NUMBERS SHOW THE MEDIAN PRICE FOR A SINGLE-FAMILY HOME JUMPED 31% FROM NOVEMBER 2012, OUTPACING SANTA CRUZ AND SAN BENITO COUNTIES. SANTA CRUZ COUNTY HAD THE 2ND HIGHEST YEAR-OVER-YEAR JUMP AT A 29% INCREASE, WITH SAN MATEO COMING IN AT 21% FOLLOWED BY SANTA CLARA AT 17% AND SAN BENITO AT 4%. CONDOS AND TOWNHOUSES IN MONTEREY COUNTY ACCOUNT FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE INCREASE, WHICH SURGED UPWARD 90%, GOING FROM A MEDIAN PRICE OF $210,000 TO NEARLY $400,000 DURING NOVEMBER OF THIS YEAR.
