2 organizations in Monterey county are set to receive a windfall that should help both for many years. A Pebble Beach man, who died in 2017, left his home to the Community Foundation For Monterey County, with the express instruction that his home (on 17 Mile Drive) be sold, and the proceeds be split between Montage Health Foundation and The S.P.C.A. for Monterey County. When the home sold this month it netted 18 million dollars, which means that the money will generate about $800,000 per year in interest. That money will allow the S.P.C.A. to build a new building for rescued pets that need long-term care.
