A MONTEREY COUNTY DISPATCHER WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY OVER THE WEEKEND AFTER WALKING OUT OF A GROCERY STORE WITH UNPAID ITEMS IN HIS SHOPPING CART. POLICE SAY 35-YEAR OLD JON BROWN HAD $100 WORTH OF GROCERIES IN HIS CART, WHEN HE LEFT THE CONSTITUTION BOULEVARD SAFEWAY AFTER HIS BANK CARD DIDN’T WORK WHILE PURCHASING A DRINK FROM THE STORE’S STARBUCKS. BROWN WAS ARRESTED AT HIS WORK AN HOUR LATER ON SHOPLIFTING CHARGES INCLUDING FELONY BURGLARY AND ENTERING WITH THE INTENT TO STEAL.
