Monterey County is one of ten counties receiving a settlement for the false marketing and sale of unapproved dietary supplements and medical devices. Benjamin Suarez of Ohio and his company, Suarez Corporation will pay a total of 1.8 million dollars to all the counties that filed the complaint. Monterey County is expected to receive $95,000 as part of the settlement. The supplements sold between 2006 and 2010 included AbGone, Colon Health Complete and Slim and Cleanse Complete.
