The Monterey County Coroner’s Office now has a 53-foot refrigeration trailer to hold COVID-19 bodies.
The Monterey sheriff’s office says the trailer is a precaution that comes as the coroner sees more COVID-19 deaths in the county. As of Tuesday morning, Monterey County has reported 247 deaths from COVID-19 since March of 2020 with nearly 20% of those deaths happening in the past 12 days.
