A meeting to discuss a partnership between Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital and Natividad medical Center is expected to take place tomorrow. Monterey County supervisors will consider a proposal initiated by SVMH officials to form a joint powers authority with the county that would own and operate Natividad, known as the Monterey County Healthcare system. The proposal addresses concerns about Natividad’s financial ability to operate a trauma center, which the hospital was awarded last month. The first phase of the plan would include nominating an ad-hoc subcommittee to come up with condition terms along with a way to solicit public input.
