Approximately 2,500 people showed up for the Monterey Community Thanksgiving Dinner yesterday. This 44th annual feast was held at the Monterey County Fair and Event Center, where community members enjoyed live music, festive decorations, and a traditional thanksgiving meal complete with dessert. The Monterey County Food Bank and the Kiwanis Club of Monterey organized the event, which was run by hundreds of volunteers. 600 pounds of potatoes, 20 hams, 200 pounds of onions, 400 pounds of yams, and 200 turkeys were used in the meal.
