Monterey Bishop Richard Garcia has died from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease. The 71 year-old spiritual shepherd had a special concern for immigrants, poor people, and incarcerated people. Bishop Richard Garcia’s body will “Lie In Repose” from 2 until 8 p.m. next Monday in San Carlos Cathedral in Monterey, and then on Tuesday and Wednesday visitation will be held from noon until 8 p-m in Salinas at Madonna Del Sasso Catholic Church. The private funeral mass for Bishop Garcia will be held at Madonna Del Sasso on Thursday at 11 a.m.
