The 2019 Monterey County Crop Report was recently released, and several crops are making gains in terms of production.
- Leaf lettuce: production up 14.6%
- Strawberries production was up 4.9 %
- Head lettuce production increased by 11.6%
Henry Gonzales, the Ag Commissioner for Monterey County went on to state that he was surprised to see lettuce as a top crop given the 2019 E-Coli outbreak.
