On Sunday, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Monterey County Branch released a statement regarding the murder of George Floyd.
In the statement, the bold, all-caps lettering mentions that “Bad cops must go to jail”.
The Monterey County Branch of the NAACP is encouraging those who want to take action to hold elected officials accountable, that “Black Dollars Matter” with regards to supporting businesses owned by Persons of Color and keeping the money within their respective community, and vote out “ineffective politicians”. The organization is also looking at establishing a fund to support the family of Floyd.
