The Monterey County Board of Supervisors will be considering an urgency law at tonight’s meeting. The law would prohibit bar “no-fault” evictions on a temporary basis. There is a concern an elevated number of evictions may be implemented as landlords prepare for a new California housing law to take effect next year. Similar temporary eviction moratoriums are in place in other counties and cities.
