THE MONTEREY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ANNOUNCED PLANS FOR FUNDING TO GO TO JAIL EXPANSION. SHERIFF SCOTT MILLER STATED THAT HIS OFFICE PLANS TO BUILD CLASSROOM SPACE FOR INMATES, AND TO START VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMS. OTHER TRAINING WOULD INCLUDE COMPUTER LITERACY. HE ALSO STATED THAT SOME FUNDING WOULD BE USED TO TRANSFER INMATES TO ALAMEDA COUNTY TO ALLEVIATE OVERCROWDING.
