The Monterey County Sheriff’s office has updated the number of covid 19 infections at the county jail. As of Friday 113 inmates have tested positive for the virus. The sheriff’s department is in the process of isolating the infection in the jail’s inmate population. At this time 400 of the 900 inmate population have been tested. In addition 3 employees at the Monterey County Jail have also tested.
